The Inspiration
A significant influence in my life has been my big sister, who recently graduated as a Nurse Practitioner and inspired me with her tenacity and wisdom. At 16, she introduced me to “Think and Grow Rich,” a book that profoundly shaped my mindset and ignited my passion for personal growth. Her journey, filled with hard work and dedication, showed me that perseverance and self-belief could turn dreams into reality.
My father, Chico, and my grandfather, Tex, were also pillars of strength and wisdom in my life. Chico’s relentless work ethic and Tex’s timeless wisdom instilled in me the values of perseverance and integrity. My coach, Prime, pushed me to my limits on the Track field, teaching me the importance of discipline, teamwork, and pushing beyond my perceived boundaries. The late Tiny Lester, a mentor and friend, inspired me with his larger-than-life presence and unwavering belief in my potential.
Being exposed to gang violence early in life added another layer to my understanding of resilience and the importance of making positive choices. These experiences shaped my determination to rise above and create a life of purpose and impact.
Influences and Early Life
My Uncle Jason, known in the Belizean community as LSD, played a pivotal role in shaping my early confidence and social skills. He was a free-spirited reggae dancehall artist who took me under his wing, introducing me to a world of music, dance, and charisma. Jason had a unique way of making me feel special; he would cut cool designs into my hair, put lines in my eyebrows, and take me along on his daily journeys. I became the life of the party, imitating his dances and learning how to captivate an audience. These experiences on the dance floor translated into a lifelong confidence that has propelled me forward.
Personal life
Family is at the heart of everything I do. As a father of seven, my family drives me to be the best version of myself. From the joy of surprising my daughter with a room makeover to sharing my son’s excitement over dirt bikes, my family life is filled with love and inspiration. My wife and children are my biggest supporters and the reason I strive to make a positive impact every day.
